Each year we keep Black History Month but this year we are doing more than we have done in previous years
The death of George Flloyd in the USA gave us a renewed commitment to address the issue sof racism and racial inequality in our societies and institutions. #BlackLivesMatter has caused us to consider our history and our present practice, who we are and how we live and to look at who we memorialise.
As part of the commitment of the Chapter to be a Cathedral community 'inclusive : faithful : radical' our usual 6.00pm services each Sunday in October 2020 focused on the stories we have to tell. The Dean conducted interviews with four members of the congregations at the Cathedral and our sister church at St Hugh's, Bermondsey and these have been combined with readings, prayers and music.
The stories are powerful and moving and we are grateful to our friends for telling us their story.
